Working towards a dream career in motorsports, 22-year-old Tyler Cooke has begun his steps towards motorsports stardom. Cooke caught the racing bug early in life, as his grandfather had a late-model team where Cooke spent a lot of time both at the shop and at the track. After humble beginnings running a go-kart built by Cooke's father in a local school parking lot, the Plantation, Florida native showed promise at the St. Lucie Dirt Go Kart track scoring two wins and a third place finish in his first season. Cooke was also a four-time pro shifter kart champion at the Homestead Karting facility.
From there, the rising talent moved from shifter karts to the MAZDA MX5 series, with the help of driver coach, Robert Cao. In 2010, Cooke earned a total of seven race wins, six pole positions, and 22 top-five finishes in the MAZDA MX5 series, and set track records at Sebring International Raceway and Homestead-Miami Speedway.
For 2011 Cooke competed in the Spec Miata NASA Championship and select events in the PLAYBOY CUP Series. Since joining forces with Long Road Racing and driver coach Tom Long, 2011 was a memorable year. Highlighting his 2011 schedule was a win at the famed 13 Hours of VIR, tying for vice-champion honours in the Skip Barber MAZADASPEED Challenge Winter Series, sweeping the BREWFEST weekend at VIR, along with accumulating ten wins, 21 top-fives and three top-tens in his 28 races entered.
The current Monticello, New York resident is also a graduate of the Skip Barber Formula 3-Day and 2-Day Advanced Schools as well as the Skip Barber MX5 School. Additionally, Cooke holds a SCCA Pro license.
His goal of competing in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series full time in 2012 was realized, as Cooke announced he signed with Freedom Autosport for the 2012 season . Be sure to keep an eye on this upcoming motorsports superstar in his rookie year as he takes on the Street Tuner (ST) class of the 2012 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series.
2013 was a great year for Cooke, Lieghooge and the rest of the Bimmerworld team. Cooke and Lieghfooge started the season with a second place qualifying position along with a second place finish at Daytona International Raceway. Later that year Cooke recieved the pole position at Road America along with the win. Coming into the last round at Lime Rock Park, they were in the hunt for the championship and ended up winning 2nd place in the race and 3rd place overall for the season.
In 2014 Cooke and Lieghfooge had a great year scoring a podium at Daytona and were in strong contention for the points championship. Cooke qualified the car many times in the top five also with many top five and ten finishes.
In 2015 Cooke was paired up with Andrie Haratonto. The Duo had many up front starting positions in the new BMW chassis and had many top ten finishes.
In 2016 Cooke was paired up with team owner James Clay. Cooke received the first ever pole for the BMW F30 chassis and would go on to win another pole later that year at COTA. The Duo had many up front starts with some good finishes including a 3rd at Sebring International.
